Joyful Jewelry

Last night I attended a Ladies Night Shopping Event hosted by my friend Cherish owner of Cherished Events LLC. It was a wonderful evening filled with positive energy, smiles and free flowing wine and food. Lots of women and vendors were in attendance including my friend Cheryl Sission a Gurrlie Girl rep. I was so happy to see her and even more obliged to score a beautiful antique inspired bracelet that only cost me $14.00. I absolutely love jewelry especially bracelets and I was so happy I even wore it today. Gurlie Girl is the "Joyful Jewelry" because it inspires, and although they have higher price points the cater to every budget. I love Gurrlie Girl Fashion Jewelry and would recommend it to any fashion maven on a budget. I sometimes have buyers remorse because I really wish I could buy more.

One Women's Treasure is Another Women's Treasure

I personally know women who are "Shopaholics" that most likely will be buying front row tickets to the new movie Confessions of A Shopaholic by Sophia Kinsella. They buy for various mental and emotional reasons soothing they're aches and pains with what the retailers like to call "Retail Therapy." Filling their closets with the same pair of True Religion Jeans just in three different shades of denim, re buying the same style dress just to find that she has it already in 5 different colors. Hoarding designer shoes, handbags and accessories. These women's closets are like finding a treasure box when your a fashionista on a budget. My sister who was making a killing in the real estate market two years ago. She was career bound, buying whatever her heart desired from very expensive clothing to houses cars, fine dining and more. These days she's a single mom in transition. With this transition she leaves behind Trina Turk silk skirts, True Religion Jeans, Prada clutches,
$400-&600.00, shoes dresses and more for me to discover and pass this precious treasure to my lovely " Recessionistas." Over the next couple of weeks I will be adopting these treasures and posting them under the phrase "Selling It" "Loving It" "Loaning It." Selling It will be the new, gently used, vintage finds we will have for sell. "Loving It will be our higher priced auction pieces. And Loaning It is our mid-higher priced items that we will be loaning on a weekly basis. Trust me this is a fabulous way to turn a thousand dollar outfit into fashionable fortune perfect for the budget conscious diva.

Couture Art by Ashley David

A couple of years ago my husband took me shopping for my birthday. We stopped by a store called Z Gallerie, it's filled with contemporary and modern furniture, home accents and art. I love this store. As we were browsing, I saw an Audrey Hepburn picture that I "really" wanted. The sales lady that was helping us informed me that they had just sold out. I was bummed but continued to look to find something else. I noticed the vintage Barbie pictures very cute. But I stumbled upon this Ashley David picture and that was the one. We purchased it that day and voila it's hanging in my bedroom on the side of my bed. Sometimes I look at the picture and wonder if she had dropped her glove...she's obviously wondering where it is, but just on the other side of the room is a handsome fella who has found it and actually on his way to give it to her and introduce himself. Sometimes I can
only imagine;-.>

I'm not a virgin...

I'm not a virgin to the blogging world. I love writing and expressing myself in a fashionable and somewhat artistic way. I've had fashion blogs and blogs dedicated to my love for cupcakes and now my newest blog is dedicated to the shabby yet chic side of fashion. My passion is fashion (this saying is such a cliche) but true. I've owned an all natural bath and body boutique several years ago and these days I've started a new venture that's near and dear to my heart. I'm in the process of building a Personal Shopping business with a twists. For a sneak peek check out my existing website at http://www.sweetaudreysworld.com/. Watch as I transition and transform Sweet Audrey's World to The Shabby Atelier. I love shopping for vintage finds, bargains, sales, and discounts. Mixing the shabby with the chic, the old with the new and the high priced with the low priced, a little handmade with a little haute couture and changing the everyday into effortless. So welcome to The Shabby Atelier.

With all my Amore,
